The consideration of factors that affect the body's cooling rate, commonly known as algor mortis, typically includes elements that can influence how quickly a body loses heat after death. While body size, ambient temperature, and position at the scene are all significant contributors to this process, gender does not play a crucial role in cooling rates.

Body size is important because larger bodies have a greater mass and may retain heat longer than smaller bodies, affecting the overall cooling rate. Ambient temperature is also critical, as cooler environmental conditions will lead to a faster cooling rate compared to warmer temperatures. Furthermore, the position of the body at the scene, such as whether it is lying on a hard surface or wrapped in clothing, can impact the rate of heat loss through various mechanisms, including conduction and convection.

In contrast, gender is not a determining factor in the cooling process. While there may be physiological differences between genders, those differences do not significantly influence how quickly a body cools post-mortem. Therefore, of the options presented, the gender of the individual is the factor that is not considered in affecting the body's cooling rate.
